Skier Profile: Ivelina Metcheva

Dr. Ivelina Metcheva is newcomer to Ski Holiday. She is a Richmond Virginia native, even though people claim she has an Eastern European accent. Ivelina works in technology transfer, she loves it, and she is amazed she even gets paid to do it. In her free time, Dr. Metcheva enjoys Argentine tango, salsa, and other Latin dances; exotic travels, working out, and hanging out with friends. She has studied biology in Sofia University, Bulgaria Academy of Sciences, and business in College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.

Snowboarder Profile: Nikki Tiano

Ms. Nicole "Nikki" Tiano and neighbor of the Oettinger family since her early years. She is rarely in the States, spending the greater part of her time working in Africa and the Middle East working in the public health industry. When she is in the US, you can find her riding her bike to and from JP (home to significant portion of Boston's Emerald Necklace) and exercising her fluency in Spanish and Portuguese.

Skier Profile: Harry Ostrander

Mr. Harold "Harry" Ostrander is an old friend of the Oettinger family, currently living with his wife Kristin and THREE [a litter of] baby kids in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Harry knows economics and geography, and urban planning. In addition to meeting new people and seeing new places, Harry enjoys politics, sailing, hiking, biking, Boston Whaler-ing, and the Red Sox.

Skier Profile: Andrea Oettinger

Ms. Andrea Oettinger is another Ski Holiday neophyte. The youngest sister of Marc, she has been too poor to attend any of the other Holidays, but decided this year that skiing was more important than being in debt. Andrea is a former teacher and is pursuing a doctorate in Education in Philadelphia. She has spent the last 12 years of her life trying to improve city public schools. Welcome Andrea!

Tele-Skier Profile: Marc Oettinger

Mr. Marc Oettinger is the marketing director for this year's Ski Holiday. Marc is a Scorpio who enjoys fine dining, dancing, art history, language, sunsets, exercise, and delightful conversation. Marc has drawn upon the good and the bad in planning, and he again hopes [expects] this to be the best snow trip ever.

Skier Profile: Emily Richard

Ms. Emily Richard is a 2nd year Ski Holidayer. Ms. Richard hails from Detroit-area Michigan and lives in golden state of California. When Ms. Richard is not busy starting new play cafes for families, she enjoys coffee, nephew, powerful blenders, Settlers of Qatan, triathloning, Trader Joes, and iPad. Fun fact: Emily spent a year in Thailand where she raced mopeds for Baht.

Boarder Profile: Karl Smart

Mr. Karl Smart is a Ski Holiday greenhorn. Karl was born in Slapout, Alabama, grew up in south Georgia, and now calls the SF bay area home. A huge college football enthusiast, he pulls for UGA and 'Bama, although, true to his redneck roots, he never attended classes at either university. Karl is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Oakland Children's Hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area. Welcome Karl!
